Mike has been involved with outreach to people experiencing poverty and crises for over 20 years. From the time he began his public service career, first as a Firefighter and then as a Police Officer, Mike has been engaging the issues of poverty from the front lines. While working for Fort Collins Police Services, Mike ran a problem solving model for the City of Fort Collins focused specifically on crime and homelessness in the downtown area of the city. For the last 7 years, Mike has been engaging those experiencing poverty from his seat as a Care Pastor. As the Executive Director of SERVE 6.8, a non-profit which specializes in serving those who find themselves in crises and poverty, Mike and his teams reach thousands of people in the Northern Colorado community every year through ministries designed to meet the tangible needs of those in poverty while demonstrating the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.
